Working once again with Duchess and her team at Chatsworth, our brief was to transform the old Coach House, into 4 bespoke bedrooms, 2 of them designed to be accessible.
Previously staff accommodation, the Coach House is adjacent to the Grade II listed Cavendish Hotel and the bedrooms come under the Hotel’s remit.
Our design intent was classic, traditional comfort, familiar to guests who have stayed at the Cavendish Hotel itself.
Furniture is a mixture of old and new. Some of it came from Chatsworth Estate and its stores and has been restored, whilst the other we procured on the client’s behalf. The result is a home from home ambiance and guests are made to feel if they are guests of the Duke and Duchess themselves. All rooms have bespoke wardrobes, housing a state of the art mini-bar unit.
Overhead low trusses of the old building were upholstered, whilst the carpet bears the Chatsworth crest.
Bathrooms are traditional and well-appointed with classic fittings, luxury showers and underfloor heating. Walls are a mélange of beautiful porcelain, timber paneling and wallpaper. Large recessed and illuminated mirrors all have demister pads.
Two of the bedrooms have feature beds, including a 4-poster supplied by Chatsworth House. Downstairs rooms are accessible and functionally designed to accommodate guests of all abilities.
